It is no secret that I find Zooey Deschanel to be one of the cutest women on the planet (besides my wife of course). Aside from that, I love She & Him. Here’s the new video from their new album Volume 2. Enjoy the joyfulness.

Ghostly International is set to release The Sight Below‘s It All Falls Apart, their full-length debut. After listening to sample tracks from the upcoming album, I am convinced this will be one of those albums I listen to during the summer when I’m relaxing outside or when I am in the studio and need some creative ambience. You can check out a sample track below.
When I was young there were your normal run-of-the-mill movies and then there were instant classics. These included all original Star Wars and Indiana Jones flicks, The Goonies, ET, The Last Starfighter, and of course Tron. Aside from Iron Man 2 (because I’m a comic book geek), Tron Legacy is my must see movie of the year. I have been annoyed as of late by all the 3D movies coming out but this may be the first one I pay to see in 3D. Recurring characters and cast (the dude abides) along with breathtaking special effects is sure to make this one huge.
Although I don’t brag about myself, I love bragging about my friends. One I have bragged on continuously is artist Constance Humphries. I have always loved her work. So when she wrote me the other day and said she would like to give me a painting I was ecstatic! All I had to do was drive to the gallery she was showing in here in Charlotte and pick it up. I am proud to say we now own the above piece and will be displaying it proudly as the main draw in our dining room.
Hillman Curtis has returned. This time with a feature length film chronicling David Byrne’s recent tour. Awesome. Here are the details:
RIDE, RISE, ROAR is a David Byrne concert film directed by David Hillman Curtis that blends riveting onstage performances with intimate details of the creative collaborations that make the music and show happen.
Shot with multiple cameras over several concerts during the 08/09 tour, the film blends the energy and charisma of classic Talking Heads with the heartfelt pathos of David Byrne and Brian Eno’s most recent collaboration.
Between the 14 live songs, the film achieves an unprecedented intimacy with David Byrne and the band, documenting behind-the-scenes auditions, rehearsals, and interviews with key players while revealing the creative process that led to the show’s unique fusion of pop music and modern dance.
RIDE, RISE, ROAR celebrates Byrne’s extensive career as a musician and testifies to the creativity that keeps him going today.
Coming from a vegetarian, this is really sad. But it makes for a cool looking poster. Does anyone else see something wrong with this?
Leave it up to idsgn to make our lives a little easier by releasing the month in review. Now you don’t have to scour all the design blogs to find what’s what and what’s hot.
I love when cities get creative with their public fixtures. Besides statues of various obscure historical figures, the majority of US towns and cities never really do anything creative. Leave it to the crazy city of Brazil to add a little playfulness to their streets with parking stops painted like the heads of Playmobil toys. Of course I don’t think they ever released A Clockwork Orange toys because if they did, I’d be all over it.

Here are some beautifully shot and creative videos from the Danish group, Syntaks. The use of layers upon layers of textures and video create a very hypnotic effect. Hats off to the creator, who happens to be one half of the group. That’s one creative group.

I am a yoga nut. It practically helped save my life and led me to a more peaceful and centered life. Through my yoga practice I have been trying to strengthen my meditation as well since they go hand-in-hand. Yoga calms the body and mind yet meditation focuses your energy and centers you. The folks at one of my favorites, Behance/the 99 Percent, have posted a great article on how meditation can help your creativity. Through meditation you can learn patience, focus, and perhaps take you through a block in your creative work.
